Staying in a hotel 100 yards from the seafront, this is a great holiday taking in country views, lovely walking and historic towns.

There aren't any really tough fells to climb on this tour, but the best view that clients are likely to get is from the top of Rannerdale Knotts. We do this walk in a morning starting directly from Hassness House. The short ascent is challenging for some, with a couple of places where you need to use your hands.
Although you're not on a high peak there, you have fabulous views of the surrounding fells and even Scotland on a clear day. In the past, we've sometimes had to do an easier walk up the valley, but this time the weather was on our side and all the group were willing and able to do the climb.
But it's not just the view that makes this special. This time, it was the ascent of Rannerdale Knotts for one of my repeat clients. She'd not been in the best place physically or mentally when she came on the holiday last year and was terrified when we did the climb. She vowed that she would never do it again.
This year she was much fitter and in a very positive frame of mind and completely aced the climb! It was a real pleasure to share that moment on the summit with her. This captures the spirit of exploration and immersion that defines Ramble Worldwide.
As we descend back to Hassness House, I reflect on what makes these weeks work. Guests loved the fact that the combination of the welcoming country-house vibe of Hassness and an all-women group is ideal for single women. The unique combination of women coming together, trying different activities in a supportive space, creates something special.
We know that when they leave, they take more than memories. This is my baby, these weeks I've nurtured and tweaked. Watching women like our repeat client transform from terrified to triumphant remains the greatest privilege of all.
A multi-activity, female only week with introductions to hill walking, Nordic walking and perhaps some aerobics and circuit training, as well as some gentle yoga and Pilates sessions and a morning on the lake kayaking.
