Since 1946, we've been taking single travellers to some of the most extraordinary walking destinations on earth — from the fells of the Lake District to the trails of Peru. Our small groups, expert leaders and carefully crafted routes mean you'll never navigate the unknown alone.

Our guided walking holidays are small by design — an average of 14 people per group. That's enough to make the days sociable and the evenings convivial, but small enough that everyone matters. There are no lost faces at the back; our leaders know every member of the group.

Many of our solo travellers come back year after year — sometimes with people they met on a previous Ramble trip. What starts as a shared trail often becomes a lasting friendship. It's one of the things we're proudest of.

Couples, groups of friends and single travellers all travel together on our holidays, united by a love of walking and a curiosity about the world. You'll find the conversation flows as easily as the paths.

Whether you're happiest on a gentle coastal path or pushing yourself on a long mountain day, we have a holiday to match. Our Ramble Grade system makes it straightforward to find the right fit:

• Gentle (Grade 1) — Easy walking at a relaxed pace, perfect for soaking up the scenery
• Leisurely (Grades 2–3) — Shorter walks with gentle ascents and plenty of time to look around
• Moderate (Grades 4–5) — Fuller days on varied terrain, with some height gain
• Challenging (Grades 6–8) — Longer, more adventurous days for experienced walkers who want to push further

Many of our holidays also offer two walk options each day — an easier and a harder route — so you always walk at the pace that's right for you.

Sole use rooms

Prefer your own space? You can book a sole use room on most of our holidays — either a single room or a double for sole occupancy. Where a supplement applies, we always negotiate to keep it as low as possible.

No single supplement holidays

We offer a selection of holidays with no single room supplement at all — though these rooms are limited and go quickly. Book early to secure yours. If we're unable to arrange room sharing by the balance due date, you'll have the option to take a sole use room at full price or receive a complete refund.
