Armenia offers a great depth of history and fascinating sights, such as age-old architecture and glorious natural landscapes. Usually, your walk will take up the whole day at a moderate pace. Terrain will often be hilly and paths generally good. Note that on holidays in mountainous areas, expect some rougher paths. An average walk length is 6 miles but expect this to vary from as little as 3 miles on a sightseeing day and up to 10 miles on a full day dependant on the amount of ascent and decent required.

Choosing to venture around Armenia on foot means that you open yourself up to the opportunity to really absorb the sights and sounds of this magnificent country. Take in the beautiful sites from the shores of Lake Sevan, which sits 6,000 feet above sea level and is surrounded by towering mountain scenery.
From there, you can head to the Selim Pass and rest at the same spot where weary travellers used to rest on the Silk Road as they traversed the mountains. We also visit the stunning Geghard Monestry, idyllically carved into a rock alcove with euphonious acoustics. While travelling you’ll welcome stunning vistas such as those of Mount Ararat, Armenia’s highest peak.
