The Camino de Santiago represents one of Europe's oldest and most popular pilgrimage routes, attracting tens of thousands of pilgrims worldwide each year who come to fulfil this spiritual journey to Santiago.
Your adventure will lead you along the Portuguese Way, the second most frequented path to Santiago, starting in the UNESCO-designated city of Porto, Portugal, and culminating in the magnificent Santiago, Spain. You'll follow the coastal route, promising breath-taking ocean views and tranquil sea breezes. You are walking in a quieter, greener Portugal, famous for its mountains, lush green countryside and Portugal’s finest coastline. Over the final 100km, your path will trace the coastline, guiding you through scenic walkways and wooden boardwalks along the Atlantic Ocean, passing through charming coastal towns such as Viana do Castelo and Vila Praia de Ancora before entering Spain's Galicia region. Inside Spain, your journey will take you through historic villages, cobblestone pathways, and expansive forests, ultimately leading you to the revered city of Santiago.
You will walk the famous Portuguese Way in three sections, and the whole route from Tui to Santiago. As you cover the last 100km of your pilgrimage from Tui towards Santiago, you'll earn the coveted Compostela Pilgrim certificate as a testament to your journey's completion.
You will stay in various hotels along the route. We have designed the holiday so you are not moving to different hotels every night. However, your luggage will be transferred regularly on this tour, please pack lightly and only one piece of luggage per person is allowed.
