On March 12 2024, Mark embarked on expedition SOLO100, an enormous challenge that inspires him to walk for 2000 km alone in the Arctic for 100 days, an endeavour to test the limits of human endurance. He took upon an important responsibility for this expedition to collect data including 100 ice core samples which would be studied by some of the world’s leading climate change scientists.
Early into the expedition Mark encountered vast areas of open water preventing him from continuing the challenge. On return to the UK and undeterred, he has developed this science-led expedition into three journeys over the next 2 years. Operating in Greenland, the Arctic and Antarctica.
We have met Mark in an exciting part of his exploration career, and representatives of Ramble Worldwide Outdoor Trust will be working with him to inspire people to get outdoors and achieve things they might not be able to do themselves. Everyone has their own Everest to climb.
